Development Status Of Medical Imaging

At present, the scale of China's medical device market maintains rapid growth and will become the third largest market in the world after the United States and Japan. It is expected that the total market size will increase from 242 billion yuan in 2012 to 597 billion yuan in 2017 at a compound annual growth rate of 19.8%. Among them, medical imaging diagnostic equipment is the largest in China's medical device segment market, accounting for 38%.
From the perspective of the overall domestic industry, there are four main trends:
First, multinational enterprises occupy more than 75% of the market share, while the troika of German Siemens, American GE and Dutch Philips occupy the main market share in China. In the medium and high-end market, the share of these enterprises even exceeds 80%.
Second, the products of local enterprises are mostly concentrated in medium and low-end equipment, and it is difficult to break through from medium and low-end market to high-end market.
Third, the R & D subjects are mostly distributed in the southeast coastal areas. The small and medium-sized enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta centered on Shanghai are active and the industry is developing rapidly. The regional strength represented by Wuxi (medical ultrasound), Nanjing (microwave, RF tumor hyperthermia) and Ningbo (MRI) is outstanding.
Fourth, Shanghai has stood out in the field of image diagnosis, with the emergence of many image diagnosis medical device enterprises such as Lianying, Shanghai medical device and Meishi medical.
Based on the above analysis, it is suggested that domestic digital medical imaging enterprises should break through the "three highs". Strengthen the R & D layout and make breakthroughs in key technologies in the following aspects:
1. High resolution is a common requirement of almost all medical imaging equipment. If we can detect deeper and finer tissues of the human body, we can find problems earlier. Ultrasonic equipment used to have 24 channels and 32 channels, but now 256 channels will be launched soon; CT will be improved from single layer to 16 layers, and will continue to improve. By improving image quality and tissue type discrimination, we can improve the flexibility of judgment and scanning, and the spatial volume of scanned tissues or organs.
2. High integration speeds up the integration of quantitative diagnosis, molecular imaging, infrared imaging and interventional therapy in medical images, so as to promote the improvement and innovation of new imaging technologies and image processing methods. At the same time, strengthen the continuous combination of 3D printing technology and medical image auxiliary analysis, layout relevant cutting-edge technologies and seize the technical highland.
3. High end, further develop the application research and development of high-frequency and digital technology by strengthening the research on image communication, image acquisition and laser scanning system. Encourage enterprises to jointly tackle key problems, vigorously develop domestic high-end equipment manufacturers represented by Lianying, and accelerate the localization of high-end medical imaging equipment.
